User rights

Consuls

Consuls can add and remove all user rights that can be granted locally, including interface administrators, rightbots and bots.
However, consuls cannot remove the consul group from any user.
Remember to handle rights carefully and ensure proper documentation for each change.

Bureaucrats

Bureaucrats can add and remove any user rights except for interface administrators, bots and consuls.
Bureaucrats cannot remove the bureaucrat group from any user.
After making changes, please ensure to update any relevant lists or records as needed.

Making new administrators

To add a new administrator, type the username (without the User: namespace prefix) and select the appropriate rights.

See also the user rights log.

It's recommended to include a link to the user's request in the comment field (like this: [[TW:Requests for permissions#newlyMintedAdmin]]).

You should then mark the candidacy ([[TW:Requests for permissions#newlyMintedAdmin]]) as successful by adding {{subst:Closed request}}.

Remember to advise new sysops to translate MediaWiki on translatewiki.net.

Administrators

Administrators can add and remove user rights as needed.
Preferable that flood flag is set to expire as it takes relative (e.g. 1h) and set times and dates; otherwise please remember to remove the flood flag when you are finished.

Restricted Rights

Certain user rights such as Oversight and CheckUser will never be granted in accordance with global policies.
The steward group may only be granted by Miraheze stewards themselves.
