Hi. Just wanted to let you know that spam only accounts / spambots can be blocked indefinitely and not only for one week, if it's clear that that's what they are. In addition, these accounts are generally also globally locked when seen. And also, since there's spambots, they don't really need a blocked template ;)
@Reception123: I just saw this in RC via IRC, so thought I should provide a response on why spam only accounts were being blocked locally for only one week. The reason is because I suggested this, as a temporary block until locked globally, as it would be more efficient than having to go through the Special:BlockList later and removing any redundant spam only account local blocks creating clutter. One week I thought was a reasonable duration, but could also do one or three months, anything that is not terribly long and has a defined expiry date. The idea being that the block itself would be noted in the #cvt-feed channel on Discord or IRC, so would be more prominently seen by global functionaries. As for the blocked template, yes, I do agree there, as we don't need to be notifying spam only accounts of their block and appeal process.
Just came home to 4 messages. Anyway, thank you both for clarifying.
