Why are we doing this?

All 3 main bureaucrats have retired. No other contributors have stepped forward with any interest in continuing the project within an ample time period.

What happens to the wiki?

The wiki is currently in an archived state. No more edits, nor comments shall be accepted at this time. Contrary to the grey notice at the top of the wiki, the wiki is exempt from the Dormancy Policy at the moment, and will not be removed any time soon. At this point, it's either up to Miraheze (our provider) to stay open, or for you to request the proper rights to continue this wiki.

Why do some things look off?

All content is provided as-is; we cannot promise that any wiki content will remain the same due to ever-changing MediaWiki updates, or extensions being succeeded and eventually being phased out as time goes on. If it matters, the final verified update to this wiki was MediaWiki 1.40.

What about wiki backups?

Miraheze provides backups for all public wikis on archive.org. See here. You can also generate your own using the instructions provided in the provided page.

How can I use this backup?

Anything under CC BY-SA 4.0 is allowed, meaning:

  • You MUST attribute the original authors, which is typically automatically done in MediaWiki.
  • You MUST use CC BY-SA 4.0 (or future iterations) as a license.

Also, note that under the Content Policy, you cannot simply create another wiki for the purpose of project continuation on Miraheze. Forks must be done on other MediaWiki hosting services.

What happens to the Wiki Discord server?

Nothing, for the foreseeable future. Updates will be provided within it if necessary.

About Us

On August 08, 2014, independent developer INSIDE SYSTEM released Majin Shoujo (魔神少女) on the Nintendo 3DS, which would later be localized under the title The Legend of Dark Witch. This action-platformer mixes the jump-n-shoot action of Mega Man, on-the-fly upgrades akin to Gradius, and a colorful cast of characters inspired by the likes of Touhou into a unique blend of frenetic fun. The game very quickly gained a following of diehard fans, and their ranks increase with each new entry.


On July 30th, 2017, Edward Mass (the wiki editor, not the guy from Gundam), founded The Legend of Dark Witch Wiki on Fandom. Later on in it's life, Blad would later adopt the wiki on April 29th, 2022 and revive it. After an RfC on the Wiki Discord, we officially moved to Miraheze in July. Yuzrnaime took over as head bureaucrat of the wiki on June 29th, 2023, before eventually retiring at the end of 2023. This wiki aims to be the #1 English-language source of information on this rapidly growing franchise. In addition, we also cover the anime series, the manga, the developer, Beatus Creation, and all of the merchandise in the series. Please feel free to join us as we cover this magnificent franchise.

  • Brave Dungeon 2 fully released on April 16th, 2023.
  • The Legend of Dark Witch 3 was delisted, alongside several other 3DS eShop games and is now permanently unavailable for purchase. It is unlikely that any re-release will happen.
  • As of September 25th, with the exception of Mika Drop, Beatus Creation is now disbanded and no longer has Twitter/Youtube accounts for the vTubers. Beatus Creation's main account is still up.
  • Beatus Creation Solitaire has released in the West and Japan!
  • Brave Dungeon + Dark Witch’s Story: Combat released on Steam on August 20th, 2021.
  • The Legend of Dark Witch Wiki was established on July 30, 2017, in hopes of organizing information for fellow international Dark Witch fans!

This is a condensed list of rules for The Legend of Dark Witch wiki. Everyone, including Bureaucrats and Admins must follow these.

In general

  • Spam is prohibited. Spam on main space pages is considered vandalism.
  • Vandalism is prohibited, and is included but not limited to:
    • Blanking pages with no explanation
    • Replacing content with no explanation
    • Spam on pages.
    • Disruptive editing.
  • Vandalism will almost always constitute a lengthy or potentially indefinite ban.
  • Do not add 18+ content (also sometimes referred to as NSFW content) to any pages, as this is a video game series for children.
  • Avoid edit warring with contributors.
  • Respect your fellow contributors. Do not go out of your way to insult users,
  • Sockpuppets are allowed, but only for legitimate purposes. Any other uses (ex. evading blocks) will be banned on sight.
  • Use common sense. Anything not on this list could be a blockable offense.
  • The most recent versions of The Legend of Dark Witch scripts are recommended (but not required) as they fix several grammatical issues.
  • Don't upload duplicate files.
    • If you find a higher quality version of an image, make it a new revision instead of uploading it again.
  • Use official artwork whenever possible.
  • If you get blocked, you can generally appeal on your talk page.

Community

Outside of typical content found on wikis, TestWiki offers comments to autoconfirmed users. New users may still create blogs and polls, however anonymous users can only vote. We also have a discord server for interested contributors and visitors. Although it is primarily intended for wiki discussion, anyone is free to join and discuss the Dark Witch series.
