Among other things, Consuls have the right to ''remove'' the [[TestWiki:Bureaucrats|bureaucrat]] bit from any user (bureaucrats can only ''give'' the bit to others) and assign [[TestWiki:Bots|bot]] flag permanently or temporarily (almost always following a request at [[TestWiki:Bot approval requests]]). It should be noted that bureaucrats could previously assign the <code>bot</code> flag ''temporarily'' to their own account or others' accounts, but should not have approved permanent bot accounts, at least not without having a Consul [[Special:PermanentLink/28568#Userrights update|reviewreviewed such requests first]]) until the creation of the [[Special:Redirect/logid/21897|flooder]] group.
