Bureaucrat is a testing permission that allows users to add administrator and bot permissions to other accounts. Please note that obtaining bureaucrat is not that easy as it can grant administrator permissions. To obtain bureaucrat you must be trusted by the community, be registered for at least 24 hours, and have more than 10 edits. Bureaucrats have the ability to:

  • Disable global blocks locally (globalblock-whitelist)
  • Not be affected by rate limits (noratelimit)
  • Access the "bureaucrat only" restriction level. This includes protection, editing, deletion, etc. Protect/edit/delete rights not directly included. (bureaucrat)
  • Mass delete pages (nuke)
  • Edit interface (Mediawiki:, etc) (editinterface)
  • Override the spoofing checks (override-antispoof)
  • Add groups: Interface administrators, Testgroup, Bureaucrats, Administrators and Bots
  • Remove groups: Interface administrators, Testgroup, Bots and Administrators
