Autopatrolled users on Public Test Wiki have both the technical ability to patrol the edits, or revisions, of other non-administrator users who aren't also members of either the autopatrolled user group or the autoconfirmed implicit user group, and have their own revisions automatically marked as patrolled. Patrolling is mostly commonly done by reviewing the unpatrolled edits in the NewPages and RecentChanges feeds. On Public Test Wiki, it is rare for this user group right to be granted as any user can request administrator permissions, which also includes the ability to have one's revisions marked as patrolled and patrol other users' revisions.
Where there is a need for the autopatrolled permission, any administrator may grant it, and you can request it by messaging any active administrator on their user talk page or at RfP. The most common reason for needing this permission would be a legitimate alternate account of an existing Public Test Wiki user.
The full list of permissions included in the autopatrolled user group are as follows:
- Have one's own edits automatically marked as patrolled
(autopatrol) - Mark others' edits as patrolled
(patrol) - Perform CAPTCHA-triggering actions without having to go through the CAPTCHA
(skipcaptcha) - View recent changes patrol marks
(patrolmarks)
n.b. on the English Wikipedia, the autopatrol and patrol user permissions are separated into Autopatrolled and New Pages Reviewers; however, in the latter case, it only has the ability to patrol NewPages. Pending changes reviewers have the technical capability to patrol RecentChanges, except in that case, only non-autoconfirmed editors' revisions need patrolling.
