Request Permissions
What is this page used for?
  • If you want to request testing permissions, you've come to the right place!
Tips for a successful request:
  • Be sure to replace Requested right with the right you are requesting. You'll see what we're talking about once you hit "Request permissions" below.
Important Notes
  • Please be sure to review TestWiki:Policies before making any request.
  • Administrator may be granted to any logged in user, and revoked for inappropriate use.
  • Bureaucrat will only be granted to a user who has been an administrator for 24 hours, who has at least 10 edits and who is trustworthy.
  • Rights like Checkuser and Oversight will not be given due to the access to private information.
  • For rollback, confirmed user and autopatrolled rights, you can assign it to yourself if you're an administrator.

Not done Sorry, but you must be an Administrator for at least 24 hours before being granted 'crat. -Examknow (talk) 17:30, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
To add to what @Examknow: said, we're somewhat flexible on the 24 hour rule (i.e., 20 hours might be okay), but there has to be enough test edits, and cleaning up of one's test edits, in order to satisfy the requirement that you are trustworthy. I noticed you've added :Category:GrahamSH to your user page, ostensibly testing the HotCat gadget, which is great, but we generally don't categorize users in that way. We do have :Category:Users, but that's, more or less, a holding category for the Babel users by language category. So, I would recommend, first, to practicing a test deletion by deleting :Category:GrahamSH and then removing, via HotCat, the user category you added to your local page (to remove it from Special:WantedCategories as a redlinked, wanted category). Following that, perform a few tests, undoing or reverting, as applicable, so that we can see you know what you're doing. If you're ever unsure, don't hesitate to ask one of us here on wiki or via #miraheze-testwiki on IRC. Also, you may find Category:Special test pages helpful for listing all of the pages on which you can perform certain administrator tool function tests, without having to both create and delete any new test pages you create. GrahamSH (Bureaucrat)

GrahamSH (talk) 17:11, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@GrahamSH: When you say that you have "a lot of experience with admin, but not crat," are you speaking to your experience on other wikis or just Public Test Wiki? If the latter, I'd prefer to see a few more test edits. Try checking out Category:Special test pages, perform a few other tests besides just a page deletion/undeletion and a category creation, and make sure you undo any tests performed (i.e., if you create a new test page, delete it). If the former, can you link to your Special:Contributions page or Special:Log page (either as an interwiki wikilink or external link) for us to review? So, I'm placing this request   On hold, to either see a few more tests/cleanup or seeing your external wiki admin actions/logs, then either I or another bureaucrat will be able to grant you bureaucrat rights. Sorry, I didn't know I was logged out when writing that!

Done. Please remember to ensure you've read our few ground rules. If testing blocking, it's highly recommended you pick on User:Example. If creating pages, remember to delete them. Undo any tests you perform. We also have Category:Special test pages you can use for testing. Ask us if you have any questions. Dmehus (talk) 00:32, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Rock (Administrator)

Rock (talk) 16:10, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

On hold...@Rock: Can you elaborate further on your reason(s) for wanting the administrator right—that is, what sort of functions are you chiefly looking to test, and do you have any experience as an editor on any Wikimedia- or Fandom-owned wiki projects? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 17:17, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes I am use to fandom. Rock (talk) 03:58, 18 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Done Okay, thanks for clarifying from where you came. I am going to grant you administrator permissions. Though we have few rules, we do have some guidelines. Please ensure you've read them. The two most important ones are that you (a) undo any tests you perform (i.e., if creating a new page, delete it afterward) and that (b) you are strongly encouraged, when testing blocking functionality, to test on User:Example. Though it is a globally locked test account, it still can be blocked, unblocked, and the like. Also, when testing, we have Category:Special test pages that includes a series of pages on which you are encouraged to perform any tests. Longer term, if you want to volunteer to help improve Public Test Wiki, please ask any consul or an experienced bureaucrat for ways in which you can volunteer. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask us on IRC or Discord. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 16:53, 18 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
