Testing on non-test pages

Hi Melba Insieme,

I noticed that you performed a test deletion of TestWiki:Community portal/Archive 1 in this log action, which you restored promptly by this log action. While it was great that you promptly restored your test deletion on that talk page archive, since there are so many special purpose testing pages, plus new pages and your userspace sandbox can be created for further testing, there's really no need for testing on those pages, and should probably be avoided.

Thanks,

Communication is required

Hi Melba Insieme,

Following your further tests, principally, of the delete function, I noted that you have subsequently deleted a flurry of existing user talk pages, which are not normally deleted. It appears you have restored all the deleted pages, but because communication is required, I am asking for you to please acknowledge, on-wiki, that you have received and understood both this warning message and the previous friendly note regarding tests on non-test pages, construed broadly, before you make any further usage of the administrator tools.

Note: I have had to notify a consul of this warning message.

Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 19:02, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have read both messages above and will be careful about what I delete. I had been testing the nuke function on recent new pages. Melba Insieme (talk) 19:49, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Melba Insieme: Okay, that is fine, but for testing Special:Nuke, what's actually better is to create several pages, tagged with the same category, i.e. something like Category:Nuke pages test or something, and then you can just nuke all those pages. Language in your tests

Hi Melba Insieme,

Regarding your further test edits, I noticed this log action, which contained language that is both unacceptable for an administrator, let alone a bureaucrat, to use really anywhere on- or off-wiki. Additionally, the diction and style used in your written prose is remarkably similar to this deleted contribution of another user.

Given the above, I have had again to refer this matter to a Consul who will decide what additional action(s) need to be taken here (if any).

Cheers,
Dmehus (talk) 13:23, 9 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
