User blocking[edit]

Hey. Why have you gone to block users on the Public Test Wiki who have no edits at all on any of the Miraheze wikis? Like this one, he has no edits and the reason for blocking is "spambot". How do you know he's a spambot? Note that in the case of test blocks, remove the blocks now. Instead of regular users, you can block either yourself or a user made for it by Example. --Anton (talk) 11:46, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Anton Because of abuse logs so the blocks is okay and he reported spam accounts on Stewards' noticeboard. HeartsDo (talk) 12:51, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay thank you HeartsDo! --Anton (talk) 14:10, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
To add to what HeartsDo said, yes this is fine. As a best practice, though, for spam only account local blocks, it's recommended to block them for up to two weeks until they're locked. Note these local blocks can be extended an unlimited number of times. Indefinite spam only account local blocks are often forgotten about and tend to clutter up the BlockList. I'll try and investigate the spam only accounts that MrJaroslavik locked soon, so as to put in place some critically important global rangeblocks that prevent account creation.
