Request permissions on TestWiki

Welcome to Miraheze's TestWiki! This page is for requesting testing permissions (Administrator/Bureaucrat) for TestWiki.

Tips for a successful request:

  • Be sure to replace Requested right with the actual user right you are requesting. You will see what we are referring to once you tap on the blue 'Request permissions' button at the bottom of this pink box.

Important notes

  • Make sure to read our policies before making any request, especially the main policy and the testing policy, and remember to revert and undo all your tests once you're done.
  • Administrator user right may be granted to any logged in user, but it may also be revoked for inappropriate use.
  • Bureaucrat user right will only be granted to a user who has been an administrator for 24 hours, who has at least 10 edits, and who has been deemed trustworthy.
  • Specific user rights like CheckUser and Oversight will never be given, due to the access to sensitive private information.
  • For confirmed user and autopatrolled rights, you can assign it to yourself if you are an administrator (though you can request those user groups here if you do not require and do not want the sysop tools).
  • For consul rights, that should be requested at the community portal, and gain a clear community consensus for that right to be granted. Consul is a very high-trust role and is rarely granted.

Not done Checkuser is not gived to user due to access to private information (+ we can not give this), read the header next time! HeartsDo (talk) 18:53, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Eltomas2003: To add to what @HeartsDo: said, if you want to play with the CheckUser extension, you can see The Test Wiki, which offers the ability to use the tool on only yourself. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 19:16, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Waki285 (translation administrators)

Waki285 (talk) 01:18, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Waki285: I've   done this as administrator, as we don't have a translation administrator group here. Dmehus (talk) 01:23, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Done. Please ensure you follow our policies, especially TestWiki:Testing policy and TestWiki:Main policy, reverting every test administrative action in the reverse order performed. As a best practice, test blocks should be done on User:Example or yourself. --Dmehus (talk) 01:22, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

More information needed. What right would you like to request? Justarandomliberal (talk) 02:25, 28 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Marking as declined, as no information has been provided within more than 24 hours. Justarandomliberal (talk) 02:41, 29 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This is a reasonable outcome, but we do have the stale outcome, so I'm going to mark this as such. If SoyokoAnis wishes to specify the permission requested before this is archived, all they need to do is reply and indicate that. Otherwise, they can open a new request. Yahya (Bureaucrat)

Yahya (talk) 13:03, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Yahya: Your test log actions generally seem fine, as you revert most of your tests, except for one revision deletion that another bureaucrat had to revert for you. However, I am placing this on hold for now principally because you've not stated a reason for requesting the bureaucrat bit—that is to say, what, specifically, you are looking to test. Additionally, I haven't seen many editing contributions to assess the latter part of the group's eligibility requirements, for which I'd note that twenty four hours is only the minimum timeframe. Instead, I will reassess this request in a few days. To expedite the process, if you can provide an account confirmation on a Wikimedia or other prominent non-Miraheze wiki from that wiki confirming your Miraheze account here, I would be inclined to grant sooner. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 14:53, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Dmehus: Thanks for reply. I've 17k+ edits in different Wikimedia projects. My meta wiki user page here. Best.Yahya (talk) 15:32, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Yahya: Oh, that's great. Would you mind either linking to a specific revision on any Wikimedia wiki where you confirm your Miraheze account here? Once that's done, I'll grant rights. Dmehus (talk) 15:38, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi @Dmehus:, I did it here. :) Yahya (talk) 18:09, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Yahya:   Thanks, per confirmation. This is now   done.
Done. Please continue to make sure you are following all policies and know that bureaucrat is, ultimately, a more senior, trusted testing permission. Ultimately, Consuls are the de facto non-test administrators on TestWiki and they, together with the community at TestWiki:Community portal, guide this wiki. If granting permissions, please try and link to the diff page of the given user's request when granting rights, and only grant rights upon request. --Dmehus (talk) 18:12, 30 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
