Request permissions on TestWiki

Welcome to Miraheze's TestWiki! This page is for requesting testing permissions (Administrator/Bureaucrat) for TestWiki.

Tips for a successful request:

  • Be sure to replace Requested right with the actual user right you are requesting. You will see what we are referring to once you tap on the blue 'Request permissions' button at the bottom of this pink box.

Important notes

  • Make sure to read our policies before making any request, especially the main policy and the testing policy, and remember to revert and undo all your tests once you're done.
  • Administrator user right may be granted to any logged in user, but it may also be revoked for inappropriate use.
  • Bureaucrat user right will only be granted to a user who has been an administrator for 24 hours, who has at least 10 edits, and who has been deemed trustworthy.
  • Specific user rights like CheckUser and Oversight will never be given, due to the access to sensitive private information.
  • For confirmed user and autopatrolled rights, you can assign it to yourself if you are an administrator (though you can request those user groups here if you do not require and do not want the sysop tools).
  • For consul rights, that should be requested at the community portal, and gain a clear community consensus for that right to be granted. Consul is a very high-trust role and is rarely granted.

Non-consul comment Per TestWiki:IA, users should be very active (as measured within the past thirty (30) calendar days) in order to be granted with this right. However your only contributions recently is the request for permissions here. I would strongly advise you to be more active recently, and to apply for this bit after you meet the requirements. This comment doesn't represent the opinion of consuls, it is just a note. --Matttest (talk) 07:19, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
C1K98V, do you know what you're looking to test specifically? Your edits and log actions seem fine. I would be potentially okay with granting you the permission temporarily (i.e., for a week or two, at most), with a clearly articulated valid need. Dmehus (talk) 06:04, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hello Dmehus, Matttest Hope you're doing well. sorry for replying late. I agree with you on TestWiki:IA policy, I'm active here, But I try to do only constructive edits, so that's why my loggedin action are less. I intend to test the IA tools, but nothing specific. To begin with I will try and understand to contribute with mediawiki js pages and offer my service. Thanks -C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 13:23, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
C1K98V, thanks for your reply. Can you tell me a bit more about the type of MediaWiki JS pages you're looking to edit? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 06:40, 14 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hello I'm actually looking ahead to edit MediaWiki js page like User right gadget, Purge, Twinkle. Also, I would like to import js page from wikipedia which is not here yet. Thanks. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 06:53, 14 May 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Done Please continue to make sure you are following all policies and know that bureaucrat is, ultimately, a more senior, trusted testing permission. Ultimately, Consuls are the de facto non-test administrators on TestWiki and they, together with the community at TestWiki:Community portal, guide this wiki. If granting permissions, please try and link to the diff page of the given user's request when granting rights, and only grant rights upon request. Per my comments above...ordinarily, I'd not be fussed with this being a few days early, but given the minor recidivism, I'm inclined to give it a few extra days. I would, however, be inclined to grant you rollbacker, based on your productive counter-vandalism work on Test Wiki. However, we don't have a rollbacker group anymore. Dmehus (talk) 06:06, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Please do not restore these before May 1st. You should be blocked as it was changed to a for-cause block when you started being disruptive and evading your self-requested block. @Dmehus: Discuss any action you do with ApexAgunomu with me. RhinosF1 (talk) 06:13, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Sorry, I didn't realize that the nature of the block had changed. ApexAgunomu (My changes here | Drop me a line) 06:17, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Supplementary comment: to note my comments here, which clarifies that the first criterion of the user restriction is no longer applicable as Chrs may or may not have seen that. In any case, please ensure that you adhere to the other provisions, with a particular emphasis on any bold changes to non-test pages, page moves, etc. Your restriction doesn't preclude such changes entirely, but rather I would just like to see you gain the consent of at least one other trusted user (two would be better) before making such changes.  Defer to a Consul for discussion and consensus. BrandonWM (talk - contribs) 23:16, 23 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Personally I would like bureaucrats to be able to continue to handle this. I'm glad that BrandonWM is back but would prefer they spend more time as a sysop just in case. Naleksuh (talk) 02:26, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, it looks like the request rationale is for testing bureaucrat permissions. There is generally not a need to test bureaucrat permissions, as all bureaucrats can do is add and remove user groups and edit protected pages, both of which sysops can do. There's not usually a need to request bureaucrat permissions for testing unless there is something very specific going on, and is usually more for tasks such as RFP or blocks at a lower level than consuls. Naleksuh (talk) 02:43, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No issues from me in crats handling as a normal request. Looks like we have to ask all consuls though. RhinosF1 (talk) 06:02, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@BrandonWM: Having looked at your past editing records on miraheze, I feel glad that you come back with a positive change of your behaviours. However, I would like to see more contributions and let it go for more time before requesting for bureaucrat here, since your recent edits are mostly asking for unblock. Also, can you state what permissions do you want to test out specifically? Thanks. --Matttest (talk) 08:43, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oppose this user is still under fairly heavy sanctions on other wikis, as well as heavy sanctions on projects heavily related to Miraheze. Zppix (Meta | talk to me) 17:54, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Strong oppose: Still has sanctions on other wikis. Cigaryno (talk) 13:20, 27 June 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Not done per above. It is appears there is clear opposition to granting bureaucrat at this time. I also didn't like the user requesting self-deferring their request (that's supposed to be done by a bureaucrat, and definitely not by the user requesting) and also striking out other user's comments even though there's no precedent for that, or any type of vote. Most importantly, a consul has said above that there is no issue with bureaucrats processing the request. Accordingly, as a bureaucrat I mark this as Not done.
