Done. Please ensure you follow our policies, especially TestWiki:Testing policy and TestWiki:Main policy, reverting every test administrative action in the reverse order performed. As a best practice, test blocks should be done on User:Example or yourself. --Dmehus (talk) 03:16, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
With the provision that given your recent blatant issues discussed on your user talk page, you may not request bureaucrat for at least fourteen (14) calendar days from today, not including today. Dmehus (talk) 03:16, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Olipino (Interface Administrator)

Olipino (talk) 13:16, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

I can’t grant these permissions because bureaucrats can’t grant this, but usually interface administrator permissions are not a test right. Dmehus, renovating, if I'm wrong (thanks)? Currently, this wiki has two interface admins: me and another. I think two is enough interface admin, because at the moment this wiki is also with the technical side all very well. This was not an official decision, but my opinion. Thank you. --Anton (talk) 14:01, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Olipino There is no specific number of interface administrators, so I would certainly consider granting this user group with a demonstrated need. However, you say your reason is to "help manage system messages." This doesn't need interface administrator permissions, as any sysop with the editinterface user right is able to edit MediaWiki system messages in MediaWiki: namespace. Dmehus (talk) 14:24, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Dmehus, please proceed to what you think should be done here. I would like to edit JavaScript or CSS interface files if there is the need. You may be informed that I requested an edit on a js file because I thought there was a need to edit but the conclusion was something different. – Olipino (talk) 14:40, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. This is a bit better, but can you elaborate on the type of editing you wish to make to existing gadgets, which gadget(s) you wish to focus on, or which gadget(s) you think could be useful for TestWiki? Dmehus (talk) 14:43, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Dmehus, I need to be careful to edit those files because those affect all users rather than only one user (the performer). I will focus on discussion gadgets because they seem to be very useful while discussing something. I'd like to make a gadget similar w:User:Enterprisey/reply-link.js on enwiki. But for editing it, I will (probably) require interface-admin bit. – Olipino (talk) 15:02, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
That one in particular was the predecessor to the DiscussionTools extension, so may not be needed here. Dmehus (talk) 15:12, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
I've   enabled the DiscussionTools extension on this page, per your request. Dmehus (talk) 15:16, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Dmehus, thank you for enabling it. What about giving the interface admin bit to my account? -- Jusl¡t (talk) 15:25, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
That can be done when you elaborate more specifically on your need for the bit, as described here. Dmehus (talk) 16:58, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

  • Requested group/permission: Interface Administrator
  • Reason for requesting: I'm requesting the editinterface. I will make a gadget similar to that of w:User:BrandonXLF/Restorer.js on this wiki. I tried to do so before but I don't have the permission to edit sitewide JS files. Futher I will also like to make/adopt useful gadgets from enwiki.

-- Jusl¡t (talk) 06:21, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Why do we need it? I think you should copy that code first to your own common.js page. There is almost no vandalism on this wiki for which that script is intended. --Anton (talk) 06:42, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
Anton, that script will not only help to revert vandalism. It will restore any version that is archived in the page history. Take the example of your own sandbox/test page (if you have), only you make edits on that page and you cannot use rollback on that page. In that circumstances, this tool will help to restore any version of the page. -- Jusl¡t (talk) 06:56, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I know what is Restorer. I can make Restorer to Gadgets, if you want. But I don't know why. --Anton (talk) 07:04, 6 April 2021 (UTC)

Lava Spire Can you tell me how you found TestWiki, or who referred you to us? Is there any particular aspect you are keen to test? Dmehus (talk) 22:13, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
I found this through a Google search for "test wikis" because I was wanting to test things admins can do on wikis like protecting pages, translating pages and blocking users. Lava Spire (talk) 22:15, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
Lava Spire Alright. I'm going to grant you sysop rights only for now. Should you wish to test bureaucrat rights, you may apply for that and any Consul only may grant that in there discussion. To make granting bureaucrat more likely, please ensure you create, and delete, a sufficient number of test pages with actual text and messages in the body of the pages, reverting your test page creations in the reverse order performed, of course. Alternatively, if you have an existing Wikimedia account in existence for the past several months, please feel free to create a confirmation edit on a Wikimedia wiki stating your account name on Miraheze. Thank you. Dmehus (talk) 22:34, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Lava Spire noting this very similarly named Wikimedia account, have you ever had any prior Miraheze accounts? I would remind you that you would do well to be upfront, honest, and candid, as honesty is always the best policy. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 22:41, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
No, this is my first Miraheze account, and I do not have any Wikimedia accounts. I chose my name based on my favorite level in Super Mario Galaxy, The Sinking Lava Spire. Lava Spire (talk) 23:36, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

I don't have a Wikimedia account so I guess I will test here more before asking again. Lava Spire (talk) 21:09, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes, or you can also test at Test Wiki, as the Special:Nuke feature may be included within the sysop toolbkit, though it may also be within the bureaucrat toolkit. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 21:13, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

  • Reason for requesting: To test further privileges with the Flow and WikiForum extensions. Additionally, I would like to test the capabilities of the Translations feature as an Admin. Administrator is also a prerequisite for the Bureaucrat role, and while I have no real need for 'crat at the moment, Admin experience could prove handy if I ever needed the higher permission, not just here but on other wikis as well.

Thank you :) Turtle84375 (talk) 08:28, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
I'm not protesting this, but I just want to say that you can test the translation, Flow and Forum extensions without administrator rights. --Anton (talk) 08:46, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Well, it's hard to know what Turtle84375 was looking to test, but most likely, they were looking to test certain Flow and WikiForum functions that are only available to the sysop group. Also, we have to remember that this is a TestWiki and sysop is essentially akin to user whereas bureaucrat is akin to autoconfirmed users who are trustworthy. (Credit to Naleksuh for the apt analogy.) Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 17:27, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
@Anton and Dmehus: Sorry for seeing this late, yes, I essentially requested Administrator permissions to gain access to certain functions on WikiForum, such as forum creation and finding out what different functions Admins have in the extension, and also to see whether Flow would be good for me to install into one of my wikis, hence the need for me to fully inspect the function of the extension. As for translation, I was looking to see what "Mark for translation" does. I apologize if that wasn't too clear. Turtle84375 (talk) 03:14, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
